How We Farm by Social Capital
Service
CWC Farms is dedicated to supporting disadvantaged urban farmers by providing essential services and educational opportunities. We aim to increase the supply of locally grown produce to benefit local communities, food banks, cooperatives, and free meal programs. Our offerings include access to equipment and supplies, hands-on workshops, training sessions, and personalized support through our growing team of experts. Our primary focus is empowering farmers who may lack the resources or knowledge to succeed independently, helping them cultivate sustainable, locally farmed-produce for those in need.
Partnerships
CWC Farms collaborates with nonprofit organizations dedicated to supplying fresh produce to local communities, food banks, cooperatives, and free meal programs. By partnering with like-minded organizations, we ensure that high-quality, locally grown produce reaches those who need it most. These partnerships amplify our efforts, enabling us to expand our reach and make a more significant impact in the fight against food insecurity.
Connection
CWC Farms values the power of community and mutual learning. We actively engage with local farmers to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and learn from their experiences. This collaborative approach strengthens our connections and fosters a supportive environment for farmers to grow and thrive together.
Advocacy
CWC Farms understands the value of government support and resources. We actively engage with state and local agencies to access financial assistance, reliable points of contact, and licensing and certification services. Additionally, we prioritize biosecurity education to ensure our operations remain safe, sustainable, and compliant with industry standards.
Purpose
CWC Farms is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. We offer meaningful opportunities for individuals with mental and physical disabilities to engage in our farm operations. Our goal is to provide a fulfilling experience where participants can contribute to something that truly matters, making a positive impact in their community.
Biosecurity, News, and Education
Urban poultry farming has become an increasingly popular hobby and food source for many urban dwellers. As this hobby grows, understanding and implementing effective biosecurity practices is essential. Biosecurity involves measures to prevent the spread of diseases and parasites between poultry populations.
CWC Farms is committed to helping poultry farmers mitigate biosecurity risks by providing the necessary resources and equipment. We offer guidance on biosecurity best practices and conduct assessments to address the specific needs of each poultry farm, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for both farmers and their flocks.
